Over 200 friends and supporters of Noah’s House made our second annual gala an outstanding success! Guests enjoyed a fabulous evening as we raised almost $50,000 to support the wonderful residents of Noah’s House!
The event, co-sponsored by Ryan’s World, was held on September 14, 2014, at the beautiful Bayou City Event Center. Honored at the event were Darryl and Lori Schroeder for their tremendous support of Noah’s House and many philanthropic endeavors within Houston. In addition, Darryl serves generously on the Noah’s House board of directors. Co-chairs for the event were Judy Blake and Craig Howard. Judy serves on the boards of both Noah’s House and Ryan’s World. Craig serves on the board of Ryan’s World, a Houston organization dedicated to helping families affected by special needs.
Dazzling entertainment provided by the artists of Cirque Imagination. Guests dined on scrumptious food prepared by Tony’s while watching unique performances of aerial rope, trapeze, hula-hoop and more. Mike Greer of Greer Auction Services was outstanding as the auctioneer. Silent and live auction items were auctioned off with live items including trips around the world, one-of-a-kind artwork and exquisite jewelry.
One of the many highpoints of the evening was having twenty of our residents, along with the staff, attend this special night. It was very touching as the residents gave their personal thanks to all of those in attendance for their kindness and generosity. The evening is one of the many components that make the continued success of Noah’s House possible.
Many thanks to all who attended – it was a night to remember! Be on the lookout for information about next year’s gala – we’re already working on it!

Noah’s House successfully launched the “Lend A Hand…So We can Extend Ours” opportunity by raising almost $ 50,000 at our Second Annual Benefit Gala on September 14, 2014.
The reality for many intellectually disabled adults is that they also have very limited income. They often have no place to go other than Noah’s House. But when there is no alternative to a life on the streets and not enough money for even our low fees, where do we send them?
Since our beginning over 16 years ago, in these situations and with help from caring donors, we have been able to accept residents on a “sliding scale – ability to pay” basis. It’s who we are and what we do. Extending our hand on this basis however, means a substantial “gap” in our revenues that leave many expenses unpaid.
The Lend A Hand effort is your opportunity to help us cover that “gap” and make it possible for us to keep extending our hand to those facing the crippling disadvantages of intellectual disability and limited resources.
Please find out more about this pressing need by and here to see a short presentation(6.6MB) with more information. If you are able to financially help, download this form and mail it with your donation to us at the address provided.
ALL YOU NEED IS CIRQUE! ACT II – You are invited to join us at our Second Annual Gala Benefit for dinner and an evening of amazing entertainment as we honor Lori and Darryl Schroeder for their extraordinary leadership in giving back to the Houston community. This special event will be held at the Bayou City Event Center, 9401 Knight Road 77045 on Sunday, September 14, 2014starting with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:00 pm followed by dinner and performances by the marvelously talented stars of Houston’s own Cirque Imagination. Proceeds will benefit Noah’s House and Ryan’s World, which is devoted to helping children with special needs.
Planning for our future – The Noah’s House Board of Directors wants you to know who we are, what we do and how you can help. We do our utmost to ensure that all of our residents lead as typical a lifestyle as possible. With our new branding, we want our mission to be understood by all so that you, too, will help us in our endeavor to support this deserving segment of our society.
The essence of the effort is reflected in our new logo, which is made up of a unique design, along with our name and a “tag” line describing our role.
The logo is in the shape of a heart that captures symbols of what we call “A Place to Call Home” surrounded by color representations of the sunshine, clear sky and the earth we all share. Our tag line sums up who we are and our mission. Noah’s House is “An independent community living center for single adults with intellectual disabilities”.
This new branding is being incorporated in all of our promotional materials, correspondence, building signage and on our 32 passenger resident bus.
We are grateful for the generous donation of time and creative talent by the management and staff of Axiom, Houston’s premier advertising and marketing agency in making this rebranding effort possible.
We celebrated the season with our annual Open House! Our facility was decorated in the holiday spirit and with our new logo! Over 150 people joined our celebration including our residents, staff, their families and “Friends of Noah’s House”. The holidays are important to all of us and our residents are no different. Everyone had a wonderful time of visiting, enjoying an outstanding meal with all the trimmings and a table overflowing with fabulous desserts. The residents were proudly decked out in their new t-shirts displaying our colorful logo. Some went all the way with even more Christmas hats and attire, which added even more spirit to the festivities.
A highlight of the event was the giving of gifts including much needed new lunch kits, hygiene supplies and other useful items for each of our residents. The party continued with a demolition of the desert table and more visiting time with families and friends.
After the event, the festivities continued for the residents as they enjoyed “Madea’s Christmas”, a fun film highlighting the spirit of Christmas sharing. The evening was followed by an enjoyable pizza buffet at CiCi’s Pizza. This was an end to a perfect day for those we are blessed to call our residents.
We express our gratitude to all of those many “Friends of Noah’s House” who donated food items, our resident’s Christmas gifts and cash donations to make this event possible.
